About Jack Hornor

My Experience

  •  I've worked in education, business, and non-profit organizations for more than 25 years, including the last fifteen in the Pioneer Valley.  I was a fundraiser for Tapestry Health Systems and Open Pantry Community Services before becoming a consultant.

  •  I'm currently a board member and co-chair of the Development Committee of MassEquality, as well as a member of the Executive Committee; chair of the Northampton Community Preservation Committee; and I represent the Northampton Housing Partnership on the Northampton State Hospital Citizens Advisory Committee.

  •  I'm a former board member and chair of the Development Committee of the Men's Resource Center of Western Massachusetts, and a member and past chair of the Northampton Housing Partnership, which works to create and preserve affordable housing in Northampton.

  •  I grew up in a family that believed in charitable giving, and I've been doing my own giving since I was in college.  My experiences as a philanthropist have given me a strong understanding of the challenges organizations face in putting together good fundraising programs.  I believe that my dual perspectives as both a fundraiser and a philanthropist give me exceptional insight in this work.

Two Really Good Things I Know

  •  How to work successfully with a diverse group of people to achieve a common goal.

  •  How to appreciate and understand an organization’s mission, and communicate it effectively to all its constituencies.
